Don’t you just love it when great light comes out of nowhere? This morning was the epitome of that. Just when my friends and I had lost collective hope and started to make our way home for a late breakfast, the sky decided to open up and say “hey, would you guys consider sticking around a while longer?”
Our answer? An emphatic “YES”
What about breakfast you say? “Irrelevant.”
Isn’t your check out time for the AirBnB coming in hot? “Irrelevant.”
Didn’t you want to pack properly for your flight home? “It doesn’t matter! LIGHT!”
I still haven’t figured out what I forgot in the AirBnB, but I’m sure there were things left behind; especially considering the mad dash to get out of there after taking in as much of this glorious light as our camera sensors could digest.
And everything about this was a scramble. It was snowing throughout this shoot – burying all these lovely ripples in the ice. This scene really stuck out to me for the windy ripples leading up to the mountain and little divots collecting snow – an almost alien aesthetic.
Hope you enjoy! God knows I savoured every moment of shooting that morning!
