When my friend recommended we hike up here to capture some images, I really didn’t know what to expect. I remember going up the somewhat steep snowshoe trail thinking “man, it doesn’t look like there’s a lot of snow here. Shoot”. But the higher we went, the more caked in snow everything became. When we came out of the trees and got onto a plateau, it became immediately clear why we’d come.
As we hiked through the snowy valley, there were so many potential photo opportunities, it became hard to focus! My neck was hurting from looking side to side at all the options – kid in a candy store style! Until we went by this scene. Then it was immediately clear what I’d be photographing that night: this monster of an imposing mountain!
I was so excited to shoot up there that I forgot to eat the dinner I’d brought with me. I got all the way back to the car and thought “man, why am I so hungry? Oh, right. Because I can only focus on one thing at a time, and I used all my focus on drooling over snowy landscapes.”
To be fair though, I’d go hungry for views like this any time!
