I’ve posted before about how much I enjoy getting into an airplane for photography, and this is an image which I hope clearly shows why. This was one of those scenes that you can’t really replicate from the ground, or even without the right position in the air. In fact, we flew over this spot at least 5 times, and only once did the scene come together like this, which also happened to be the one with the best light I could have asked for.
Prior to getting in the air, I had no idea anything like this existed where I’d be going, and it completely changed my perspective on the area. Coming across a scene like this in conditions like this while never having seen it before is the kind of thing that gives me chills. I hate to say it, but sometimes luck is a winning strategy! Now, to find my way up to that lake. BRB.
