Flying over giant glaciers in Kluane National Park is a surreal experience. Looking straight down, I was initially drawn to how the glacier almost had waves of ice, but in looking deeper those waves took on so much more character. For me, looking at the image on a grand scale shows soft flowing patterns, but under closer examination those patterns become more jagged or piercing – calming from a distance, but jarring up close. This is a good example of how jarring those glaciers can become.
