This trip took a whole lot of walking, but that walking was never more interesting than when we would walk under mountains like these two – mount Thor and mount Northumbria. These two peaks absolutely dominate the vistas throughout this valley, and when some passing cloud created some dynamic light, the power of these mountains really showed through. Even more interesting to see some geese making an appearance. I can tell you walking between the peaks definitely feels like you’re walking through some sort of ancient gateway. And ya know what? Given that some of mount Thor’s rock is as much as 3.5 billion years old, you kind of are walking through an ancient gateway.
With all of that in mind, I named this one “Guardians of the Akshayuk”
