I’m all for producing mountain portraits, but producing them from the air in a small plane is a bit of a different beast when you see peaks like this one just poking through clouds. As you move between mountain passes, however, turbulence can pick up and turn what would normally be a comfortable ride, into a rollercoaster! Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind a shaky ride, but trying to compose and produce a sharp image while bouncing up and down with your head out of a plane window can be a bit of a challenge. This was one of those times.
I was absolutely doing everything I could to make this one work, and certainly the shakiness of the plane didn’t make it easy on me. Thankfully, this one (and only) of the many frames I shot did work out well in being a good composition and sharp. All together, an incredible experience! 10/10, would do it again!
