The Weasel River in Auyuittuq national park is a feature which is really responsible for sculpting most of the scenes I photographed on my 2024 trip to Baffin Island. In fact, the weasel, or the rivers/streams that feed it, are in nearly every image I took while I was up north. While the mountains are incredibly dominant, the narrow distance between peaks created all kinds of opportunities to photograph the river itself, and with interesting and dynamic lighting conditions. A bit of elevation in the right spots helped to show that the river has the same sort of patterning as seen in glacial rivers in other parts of the world.
